These Terms of Sale govern every purchase of merchandise on 1890project.com, which Pine Street Strategies LLC, doing business as Pine Street Advisors, sells.
Pine Street Strategies LLC, doing business as Pine Street Advisors (“Pine Street,” “we,” “us”), sells all merchandise on 1890project.com. When you place an order, you contract with Pine Street. No university, government agency, or law firm sells merchandise on this site.

When you place an order, you agree to these Terms of Sale, our Shipping Policy, our Returns and Refunds policy, and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any of them, do not place an order.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. If you are younger, a parent or guardian must place the order.
We sell apparel. Today that means printed shirts on a Gildan 5000 heavyweight cotton base with a one color screen print. Each shirt carries a state name, an institution name, and a dollar figure.
The figures come from the federal record cited on our Support page. They report historical funding data. They do not state a finding, judgment, or award of any court.
Not a donation. Your purchase is a retail purchase of goods. It is not a charitable contribution, and it is not tax deductible. Proceeds support the work described on our Support page. Pine Street does not promise any particular amount or percentage of a purchase to any cause, fund, person, or institution.
Not legal services. Buying merchandise does not create an attorney client relationship with Calloway Law, Donald Calloway, Jr., or any other lawyer. Nothing on this site or on any merchandise is legal advice. Buying merchandise does not make you a client, plaintiff, class member, or party to any legal matter, and it gives you no right to any recovery.
No affiliation. Institution names appear on merchandise to identify the subject of the printed figure. No university named on this site sponsors, endorses, or has any affiliation with the merchandise unless it says so in writing. Each institution’s names and marks belong to that institution.
All prices appear in U.S. dollars. The listed price of each shirt includes standard shipping within the United States, so the price you see is the price you pay before tax.
We calculate sales tax where the law requires it and show the amount at checkout before you pay. We may change prices at any time. A price change does not affect an order we have already accepted.
If we list a price by mistake, we may cancel the order before it ships and refund you in full.
Your order is an offer to buy. The confirmation email we send after checkout acknowledges that we received your order. It does not mean we accepted it. We accept your order when we send a shipment confirmation.
Before we accept an order, we may decline or cancel it for any reason, including a pricing error, a production limit, suspected fraud, or a payment we cannot verify. If we cancel, we refund the full amount to your original payment method.
You may pay with any method the checkout offers. Shopify Payments, powered by Stripe, processes payments. We do not see or store your full card number.
You confirm that the payment information you give is accurate and that you have the right to use it. You authorize us to charge the total shown at checkout. Your card statement may show Pine Street Strategies LLC or a variation of that name.
We make every item after you order it. A fulfillment partner, currently Printful, prints each item and ships it directly to you. Production time and shipping time both count toward delivery. Any delivery date we give is an estimate, not a guarantee. Our Shipping Policy has the details.
We ship only within the United States.
Choose your size with care. Screen colors differ from printed colors, and small variations in print placement, ink tone, and fabric shade are normal for printed goods. They do not count as defects.
Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers your order to the address you gave us.
To change or cancel an order, email hello@pinestreetdc.com right away with your order number. We can change or cancel an order only before production begins. Once production begins, we cannot change or cancel it.
Because we make each item to order, we do not accept returns or exchanges for a change of mind, an incorrect size choice, or a color preference.
If your item arrives damaged, defective, misprinted, or different from what you ordered, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Send your order number and a photo of the problem. We will replace the item or refund the purchase price. Our Returns and Refunds policy describes the full process and controls any conflict with this section on returns.
Nothing in these Terms limits any right the law gives you.
The designs, text, graphics, and other content on this site and on our merchandise belong to their owners and carry legal protection. Your purchase gives you ownership of the physical item and a personal license to wear and display it.
You may not copy, reproduce, or sell the designs, and you may not use them to make or sell merchandise. You may not use the site for any unlawful purpose, interfere with the site or its checkout, or copy its content by automated means.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we provide the site and the merchandise “as is” and “as available,” and we make no warranty beyond those the law requires.
The site presents historical and financial information for public education and discussion. Nothing on this site or on any merchandise states a finding of any court or promises the result of any legal, legislative, or administrative matter. The status of any matter can change at any time.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Pine Street’s total liability for any claim that relates to an order or to this site will not exceed the amount you paid for the order. Pine Street has no liability for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
Some states do not allow these limits. Where a state does not allow them, they apply only as far as that state’s law permits.
The laws of the state where Pine Street Strategies LLC keeps its principal place of business govern these Terms and every order, without regard to conflict of law rules. The state and federal courts located there have jurisdiction over any dispute, and you and Pine Street consent to their jurisdiction.
Before either of us files a claim, the claiming party will email the other and allow 30 days to resolve the issue informally. Contact us first at hello@pinestreetdc.com.
We may update these Terms at any time by posting a new version on this page with a new date. The version in effect when you place an order governs that order.
These Terms, together with the policies they name, make up the entire agreement between you and Pine Street about your purchase. If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right, we do not give it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may send you notices by email at the address you gave at checkout.
